Looking back on 2025

Zebra Marketing & Communications offers unique marketing solutions, tailored to suit your business needs. Located between Wrexham and Chester, we specialise in ongoing or project support for strategic marketing, copywriting, media relations and services relating to events, exhibition and conferences for clients locally, nationally and internationally, working with our partners to provide a complete service.

In Zebra’s 12 posts ‘til Christmas, we have been enjoying looking back on a busy year with our clients! From going all in at Wembley, to celebrating 15 years of Zebra Marketing, see what 2025 brought us:

January

We start by looking back to January, when we did a site visit to Wembley Stadium in preparation for our client The Survey Association’s upcoming AGM which was to be held there in April. Home of England’s national football team, Wembley Stadium has witnessed some historic sporting events, along with incredible performances from some of the world’s biggest artists. Formed in 1979, The Survey Association (TSA) is the trade association representing the land surveying profession in the UK.

February

For our February post we revisited Abbey Gate College’s spell-binding production of Les Misérables, which brought together pupils from five local primary schools who performed in five performances at the College. What a fantastic experience for all the young people involved!

Abbey Gate College is an independent school for pupils aged 4-18 years, located in the historic Saighton Grange and Aldford Village. The College is a unique, inspiring and nurturing place to learn and grow, where the caring and committed teaching and support staff do all that they can to help a child fulfil their potential.

Across five unforgettable performances, the College delivered a version of Les Misérables so polished and powerful that many described it as “phenomenal,” “incredible,” and “on par with the West End.”

March

In our 12 posts ‘til Christmas, we looked back to a busy month in March, when we launched client Reytonwire’s new website. We also attended a fabulous Marketing Meet-up at Moneypenny in Wrexham too.

The Wrexham Marketing Meetup at Moneypenny is a community event, designed for marketers to connect, learn and share knowledge. The event featured ‘lightning talks’ from community members, allowing attendees to listen and engage with inspiring stories.

Zebra was also invited to meet Child Action Northwest, a charity dedicated to supporting children, young people, vulnerable adults, families and communities across the North West and beyond.

April

Returning to April with Zebra’s 12 posts ‘til Christmas, we enjoyed revisiting Wembley to support The Survey Association’s AGM, which included a fantastic stadium tour and an unforgettable Robot Wars team building activity. This was facilitated by Team Tactics. Inspired by the original BBC Robot Wars series, teams had to create, customise and name their own robot, before competing in three different challenges.

In April we were also out and about locally, attending a Business Leaders breakfast in Wrexham, a showcase for Lexus Wrexham Open 2025, and a Marketing Showcase at Aintree too.

May

In Zebra’s 12 posts ‘til Christmas, we looked back to May, where we enjoyed visiting our new client Child Action Northwest for the open day of its new HQ. The charity is now located in a stunning purpose-built office building, which is home to over 100 members of CANW staff. The move ushered in the start of a new era for the charity, which can trace its roots back to the founding of Blackburn Orphanage over 135 years ago.

Ali Stathers-Tracey, then CEO of CANW, commented, “Our Open Day today was an opportunity to network and meet with old friends and new as we threw open the doors to this wonderful HQ. We are very grateful to everyone involved, who has helped make the whole move and our event today so successful.”

June

In the next of our 12 posts ‘til Christmas series, we returned to 1 June, when Zebra turned 15! Founded in 2010, and with nearly 100 years of combined industry experience between us, our team is small but talented.

Still in June, we also entered one of our client CB Homes’ fabulous self-build projects into the LABC Building Excellence Awards. We were thrilled that this beautiful home was Highly Commended in the category Residential – Best Individual New Home.

July

In Zebra’s 12 posts ‘til Christmas, today we look back to July, where we enjoyed attending our client Career Evolution’s evening event, held at Storyhouse in Chester, ‘Smart Career Moves with Maja Kenney: following your dreams and turning them into a business’.

Its Smart Career Moves series of events explores the different routes people take on their career journeys. There is no right or wrong direction to take – and each road helps build experience and resilience along the way. Maja Kenney from Maja’s Motorcycle Adventures said “It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you to Career Evolution for inviting me to share my story of the twists and turns my business career has taken – and how I have changed my life into living my dream. It was wonderful to meet and chat with everyone and answer all the brilliant questions after my talk.”

Career Evolution specialises in providing Outplacement, career transition, career management and coaching, to support organisations experiencing transition.

August

In the eighth of our 12 posts ‘til Christmas, we returned to August, when we completed our client The Forshaw Group’s 2024 Impact Report. Founded in 1948, The Forshaw Group specialises in property restoration, working closely with insurance companies and loss adjusters to renovate commercial and residential property damaged by fire or flood.

The company is committed to making positive change and takes pride in supporting the local community and works hard to bridge the skills gap within the construction industry. In 2024 the business raised over £75,000 for 43 charities, welcomed nearly 30 students for work experience, and works with leading insurance partners, including Aviva, Allianz and United Utilities.

The same month, Zebra also joined forces with a Rhino to sponsor a cricket shirt for a charity match!

September

In Zebra’s 12 posts ‘til Christmas, we look back to September, where we wrote two entries for CB Homes for the prestigious Build It Awards. These two beautiful self-build projects were both shortlisted in the categories for Best Turnkey Home and Best Brick Home.

Our client Child Action Northwest was shortlisted for two awards we submitted in the national Third Sector Awards and won Unsung Hero of the Year! Client Career Evolution also turned 15 that month.

October

In October, we organised client Child Action North West’s first ever Inspire and Change Awards day at the Last Drop Village in Bolton, and we also celebrated 10 years of INS-PIRE Academy for The Forshaw Group.

We enjoyed supporting Vox’s last networking event with the brilliant special guest speaker Sasha Kenney, Entrepreneurship Coordinator from Wrexham University, who discussed the importance of having an Entrepreneurial Mindset, the hidden key to growing your business.

November

Looking back on November in Zebra’s 12 posts ‘til Christmas, we were flying high supporting the biggest ever member event for The Survey Association at its annual Conference and Awards, where we were inspired by amazing speaker and RAF legend Mandy Hickson.

We also started working with Wrexham Foresters, a grassroots-first football club with a mission to foster inclusivity, develop local talent, and create pathways for players of all abilities. We also became sponsors of its Women’s team.

December

In our final post of Zebra’s 12 posts ‘til Christmas, earlier this month we enjoyed Christmas Carols at Chester Cathedral with Abbey Gate College. Abbey Gate College’s historic ties to Chester Cathedral remain a defining part of the College’s identity today. The College itself occupies buildings that were once part of a Benedictine monastery connected to the Cathedral, and within the current ranks of Chester Cathedral Choristers are a further seven full choristers and two probationers from Abbey Gate College.

We have thoroughly enjoyed looking back on an amazing year! We can’t wait to see what 2026 brings for us and our clients.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See you in 2026!
