Showcasing the impact of print, online and social media partnerships for North Wales Beds

Zebra Marketing and Communications was pleased to recently secure a partnership between our client North Wales Beds and The Leader, LeaderLive, and Facebook page.

This partnership involved The Leader hosting a fun social media photo-led competition for people across Wrexham and Flintshire to share cute photos of their sleepy pets.

Entries had to include the name and age of the sleepy pet pictured, and any information about their sleeping habits of their snoring pups, dozing felines, or any other creatures great and small catching a few winks.

Any posts made to The Leader on social media were also requested to tag North Wales Beds’ social profiles on Facebook and on Instagram, with the hashtag #NWBpetsinbed.

An article detailing the competition was shared in print and online, and a showcase of all the sleepiest pets from across Wrexham and Flintshire was then featured in a 16-page picture supplement with The Leader.

People entered in their hundreds, and three winners were chosen at random from all the entries, with the prizes supplied by North Wales Beds. This generated a further last piece of online and print coverage with The Leader.

Scooping the first prize of a brand new Sealy Posturepedic Millionaire Mattress (available as a double or king size, as stipulated by the winner), with a value of over £500, was Fiona Morris, from Bersham. Fiona had entered with a picture of Scruffy the cat lounging in front of their TV.

Second prize, £100 off any item in the North Wales Beds showroom and store, located on Mold Road, Gwersyllt, Wrexham, was won by Kerry Chester. Kerry, from Deeside, shared a photo of her dog Blue, sleeping in an awkward spot on her stairs.

The third placed winner was Gemma Richards, from Rhostyllen, who has £50 off any item in the North Wales Beds showroom and store. Gemma had sent in a photo of dog Luna catching 40 winks with her teddy, who she can’t sleep without.

Speaking of the competition, Managing Director of North Wales Beds, David Griffiths, said: “We’ve all heard the phrases of ‘taking a cat nap’ or ‘sleeping like a dog’, and our sleepy pets competition partnership with The Leader showed local pets doing just that! We loved seeing so many fun and cute photos of snoozing cats, dogs, and every pet in between, from across Wrexham and Flintshire.

“We wish our three deserving winners Fiona, Kerry and Gemma congratulations, and we hope they all enjoy their prizes and sleep just as well as their pets!”
