Zebra Director, Clara Hughes nominated for RBS Outstanding Achievement Award
Chester-based Clara Hughes, Director of Zebra Marketing and Communications Ltd has recently been nominated for the award of The First Tee’s ‘RBS Outstanding International Contributor of the Year’ for her involvement with children’s charity, Empowering Youth Foundation.

Clara sits on the board of the Empowering Youth Foundation (EYF), a UK registered charity that represents The First Tee in the UK.  EYF nominated Clara for this prestigious award for her consistent support and dedication to the charity since its start.  EYF has run First Tee’s Life Skills Experience programmes since 2008 and have reached over 5000 vulnerable youth in the North West.

Dawn Roberts, Executive Director of EYF, stated: “I personally believe that EYF owes a great deal of our success, especially media related to Clara Hughes. She is so dedicated and enthusiastic and through her media expertise our charity has featured in local, national and international press.  Though she is young, she challenges the board continually to think outside the box and look to the future. I would be over the moon if she won”

Clara Hughes, Director of Zebra, commented:  â€œI am thrilled to be nominated for this award, I thoroughly enjoy being on the board of EYF and I am continually impressed by the great work they do. It would be an honour to win, and such a great opportunity to meet other members in The First Tee Network.”

The First Tee is an initiative of the World Golf Foundation, a non-profit organisation based in St. Augustine, FL at the world Golf Village. Its mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programmes that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.

The Award was launched in 2010. The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) created the RBS Outstanding International Contributor of the Year Award to recognise a volunteer from The First Tee who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in support of international chapter activities.

The winner will be announced in May and if Clara is successful she will be jetting off to San Francisco to meet with members of The First Tee Home Office and RBS for a celebratory conference and dinner.
