Zebra’s Director raises almost £400 for welsh cancer charity, Tenovus

Last month we shared news of Zebra’s Director, Clara Hughes’, upcoming zipwire challenge. The challenge was an organised event to raise funds for Tenovus’ Breast Cancer Appeal and to help raise awareness of Breast Cancer across the UK during the month of October. In total, 35 people participated on the day and to date the group have collectively raised about £3,500, with almost £400 of which from Clara’s own fundraising.

Here’s what Clara had to say about the occasion “Although a little nerve-wracking beforehand, it was an exhilarating experience and one I would definitely do again. It is very hard to describe how you feel accelerating to nearly 100 mph with nothing but a harness over a lake 500 ft below you and the wind buffeting you.  You have no control over what happens and all you can do is hold on and enjoy the ride!  However, after travelling almost a mile, in less than a minute, the ZipWire was over.  I wanted another go!”

Well done, Clara and a huge thank you to everyone who has supported this worthy cause. Who knows what our next fundraising challenge will be here at Zebra? Perhaps we might join all 17 staff from the Liscard shopping centre to raise money for Stick 'n' Step at the Liverpool Santa Dash this Christmas!
